Nagomi, according to the owners of the new Japanese restaurant of the same name, is a term that can signify peace, comfort, and serenity.  In this particular case, it also means a dream fulfilled.  After years of working for others--first for his family back in Japan and, most recently as an executive chef at Albuquerque’s Japanese Kitchen--Tokyo native Masahito Sano finally has branched out on his own. With the recent opening of Nagomi, he achieved a goal set years ago.  “His family owns a restaurant in Tokyo and they’ve had it for 100 years,” says Sano’s wife and co-owner Kelly. “He wanted to come to America and open his own.  This is his dream.” Nagomi specializes in what Kelly Sano calls “very traditional Japanese food.”
